Online presentations don't have to be dull, mundane, and boring - regardless of the topic. When done effectively, online presentations can elevate messages and succinctly inform or build consensus. In this course, you will learn essential techniques, tools, and tips to make online presentations not only effective but a great tool to share information.
Course Outline
The course is divided into four, 2.5 hour online lessons:
- Session 1: Goals, delivery, dos and dont's in presentations
- Session 2: Know your audience; tools for successful presentations
- Session 3: Practicum part 1: How to plan an effective presentation
Session 5: Discussion of the chapter “Edged Tools and the Death of a Branch Manager” from Can Laughter Make the World a Better Place?; Discussion of the “Burning Man” episode of Malcolm in the Middle (Season 7, Episode 1)
- Session 4: Practicum part 2: Delivering an effective presentation and peer review
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand different techniques in presenting.
- Learn tips to allow for effective presentations.
- Gain insights to the perspective of an audience.
- Understand how body language sends messages to the audience.
- Utilize various presentation tools to make presentations more effective and meaningful.
- Recognize “what” messages are sent in a presentation: directly & indirectly.
- Apply what you learn through demonstration.
About the Instructor
Kc. Kasserman is a faculty member of the Love School of Business instructing students in Supply Chain Management/Operations and Project Management. He earned a BSBA from Appalachian State University and an MBA from Wake Forest University. Kc. Currently holds multiple professional/industry certifications while also managing his own Training/Consulting business here in the Triad. He shares is experience in effective presentations from over 25 years of industry experience.
