Module Description

Learn skills for using watercolors to achieve vibrant hues and radiant neutrals. With professional watercolorist Susan Patton as your guide, you’ll have a chance to pick up that brush and create your own personal piece of art. Once you have learned the basics, you can carry the tools of the trade with you any time and paint when you feel those creative juices bubble to the surface. You will learn about watercolor paints, watercolor brushes, watercolor paper, and watercolor techniques.

This is a non-competitive, no failure class and is suitable for those with no prior experience in watercolor.

Learning Competencies

Learners will know by the end of the module:

  • Watercolor tools such as correct paper, brushes, and paints.
  • Different watercolor techniques using salt, sandpaper, Saran Wrap, etc.
  • Some aspects of color theory.
