Module Description
Elon University's lifelong education program is in its 13th year! It has been an incredible success and continues to improve each year thanks to the great work of our dedicated volunteers. The program was designed to offer non-credit learning opportunities to people ages 50 and older. The learning institute, called LIFE@Elon, features weekly presentations, on a variety of topics, conducted in an engaging format. There are 12 classes offered per semester (fall and spring) which are taught by current and retired Elon faculty and staff members, other area educators, and presenters chosen by our Curriculum Committee volunteers.
The yearlong membership fee is $160, which includes enrollment in all 24 sessions, free parking at Johnston Hall on class days, book clubs, Special Interest Groups, and borrowing privileges at Elon University's Belk Library.
Topics you can expect to see covered this year in your class include:
- Audie Murphy WWII Hero, in full costume
- Cave Diving for Sport & Science
- Discoveries from the James Webb Telescope
- Art: A Creative and Spiritual Journey
- The History of the Tuscarora Indian Nation
In addition, the video recordings from all 12 fall classses are available online for all LIFE@Elon members to view at their leisure.
