Module Description

Research shows that how you tell your family history can affect the strength of your family. In fact, enhancing different characteristics of those stories make them more effective in developing stronger young people.

This course gives you the tools you need to share family stories that make a difference.

This course is important for people who are already engaged in sharing family stories and those who would like to be doing more. It’s for people who want to know what kinds of stories help build people up. It’s for people who want to reclaim their own sense of history.

Instructor Information

In 2018 Dr. Roselle, Professor of Political Science, combined her 25+ years studying political narratives with her 15 years of family history research to co-found the Family Narrative Project, LLC. The Family Narrative Project helps people leave a meaningful legacy by guiding people through the process of saving and sharing their stories. She has a Ph.D. from Stanford University, has won the Elon Distinguished Scholar Award, and has won the Elon Senior Faculty Fellowship twice. She has published extensively and is an acclaimed teacher. In 2018 her department created its first faculty award, named the Laura Roselle Award for Undergraduate Mentoring, and unanimously chose her as the award’s first recipient.
