Module Description

If you feel like your career path at this point is uncertain, unpredictable, and won’t follow the straight line everyone told you it would, you aren’t alone. With a global pandemic, contracting and disrupted markets, and social justice movements taking center stage, no segment of the workforce is immune to chaos. Rather than seeing disorder as necessarily bad and something to be avoided, the best option is to embrace this uncertainty and learn how to adapt to it by using Chaos Theory of Careers. Life outside of the classroom doesn’t fit neatly into majors, so learn how to identify your transferrable skills and experiences that matter, set goals that allow you to prepare instead of plan, and reconceptualize your professional identity in a way that makes you marketable to any employer.

Learning Competencies

By the end of the module, learners will:

Articulate strategies for identifying and applying transferable skills

Develop novel techniques for networking based on Chaos Theory

Create and apply visualization tools like wandering maps for career exploration

Set flexible goals using several frameworks

Recognize principles of Chaos Theory of Careers and how they contrast with historical approaches

30 seats available.
